NBN Infrastructure Works Beginning in Hall Village

28 August 2026

In January 2025, the Australian Government announced the roll-out of NBN Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) to upgrade of Australia's remaining national Fibre-to-the Node (FTTN). Upon the announcement, the Village of Hall and District Progress Association contacted local Fenner MP, Hon Dr Andrew Leigh, and Senator Katy Gallagher to ensure that Hall Village would be included in the FTTP upgrade.

In November 2025, NBN Co contractors, Ventia, began surveying the existing telecommunications infrastructure in Hall Village in preparation for the FTTP upgrade. On 15 June 2026, staff of NBN Co and Ventia provided information about the NBN FTTP roll-out to a Community Meeting of Hall Village residents and other stakeholders.

As outlined by NBN Co staff, the first step in the roll-out in Hall Village is the undertaking of major construction works including installing pits and connecting pipes, digging and under-boring on public and private property such as under footpaths and nature strips and installing underground cables.
