Q.  How did Hall get its name?

Henry Hall, J.P. was given a grant of 3,492 acres of land in the vicinity of what is now Hall, in 1833. He built a property on this land which he named 'Charnwood', where he and his wife Mary (nee Fisher) had a family of ten children. Henry Hall had been employed by the Australian Agricultural Company when he arrived in NSW in 1823. He was born in Loughborough, England. Q.  Is Camping Available in Hall Village or Hall Showgrounds

There is no general camping allowed anywhere in Hall Village. The Hall Showground is not an allowed camping area.

The area of the Hall Showground is part of the Bicentennial National Trail which is an authorised equestrian trail of 5,330 kms from Cooktown Queensland to Healesville Victoria, using stock routes, bush tracks, fire trails, and surveyed roads along the Great Dividing Range for use by walkers, horse riders, animal packers and cyclists. With the presence of the horseyards, the Showground is an area where only riders and animal packers may camp when travelling the Bicentennial Trail.

The closest available camping would be available at Exhibition Park (EPIC).

ACT Sports and Recreation may authorise limited camping only for special events such as The National Sheep Dog Trials Championships.
