ACT Centenary Trail

17 December 2012

The Centenary Trail is an approximately 150 kilometre self-guided, non-motorised trail for walkers and touring cyclists that loops around the ACT.

The Canberra Centenary Trail is one of many projects that will commemorate Canberra's centenary year in 2013. The trail will provide a lasting legacy to be enjoyed into the future.

The Centenary Trail takes both walkers and cyclists on a loop of Canberra. While it can be used in both directions this description will identify the route as if the users were travelling in an anti-clockwise direction.

The trail has a symbolic start point at Parliament House and loops around the ACT through: Mt Ainslie, Mt Majura and Mulligans Flat Nature Reserves; Hall Village; Belconnen Town Centre; Gossan Hill Nature Reserve and Bruce Ridge; the National Arboretum Canberra and Stromlo Forest Park; Cooleman Ridge Nature Reserve; the Murrumbidgee River Corridor; Tuggeranong Town Centre; Isaacs Ridge and Red Hill Nature Reserves and back to Parliament House.

The map shows the proposed route in north ACT and the 'walk only' detours. The detours will enable walkers to get to the summits of Mt Ainslie, Mt Majura, Black Mountain and Red Hill. One of the proposed campsites for walkers / riders will be at Hall.
