Hall Ball Success!

21 July 2009

The inaugural 'Hall Ball' was held last Saturday night as a fundraising event for the Hall Rugby Club, as well as Camp Quality. The Hall hall was filled to capacity, with everyone in attendance dressed in their finest enjoy the night. As everyone enjoyed a few pre-dinner drinks and the entree
platters were being walked through the hall, and quickly devoured, the mood was being set for a great night.

Following a fantastic meal, and an address from the guest speaker and former Wallaby, John Ross and also Camp Quality volunteer, Duncan Hicks, the auction swung into action. Vance Jones of Elders Real Estate at Gungahlin volunteered his services as the auctioneer, and with the assistance of Simon
Southwell, really got the crowd involved. The auction was a huge success and the Hall Rugby Club was able to pledge $5,000 to Camp Quality.

The band 'Charlie Bold' fired up for the rest of the night and the dance floor was quickly full, and remained that way until the completion of the final song!

A great night was had by all and a huge congratulations must go to Hall Rugby Club for organising this event and everyone in attendance is looking forward to event again next year.

As the President of the Hall Rugby Club, I would like to thank everyone that helped make the night such a success - from those that helped organise the Ball, assisted in the set up and clean up, those who generously donated items to the auction and raffle and those who purchased the auction items,
and of course everyone for turning up and supporting the night.

This will be on the calendar for the next year and many years to come.

Photo: Snapped enjoying the night is Tony Hazelton (centre) of 'Hall Village Motors', with a signed football purchased in the auction. With Tony are Adam Gladman (left) and President, Shaun O'Connor, both of the Hall Rugby Club. The boofhead in the background is Neville "Bartos" Betts, a former President of the Hall Rugby Club, who is clearly enjoying his night!!
