ACT Government Commits Funding for Hall Storm Water Infrastructure and Safe Shared Path from Hall Village to Gold Creek

5 June 2026

A joint media release by ACT Treasurer Chris Steel and City Services Minister Tara Cheyne has announced that the 2026-2027 ACT Government Budget will include funding for new stormwater infrastructure for Hall Village and to build a new active travel path between Hall Village and Gold Creek.

These commitments by the ACT Government are the result of more than four years of advocacy by the Committee of the Village of Hall and District Progress Association.

Since January 2022, the Progress Association has actively engaged with our local Yerrabi MLAs, especially Leanne Castley and James Milligan, as well as Minister Tara Cheyne to have comprehensive storm water drainage infrastructure established for Hall Village that meets current and future needs recognising the increasing frequency and severity of storm events that result in flooding and inundation in parts of the village.

Since November 2022, the Progress Association, with support from Yerrabi MLAs Andrew Braddock and Michael Pettersson, has advocated for the construction of a safe sealed cycle and pedestrian path between Hall Village and Clarrie Hermes Drive.

The Hall Progress Association welcomes these commitments by the ACT Government and looks forward to timely implementation of both storm water infrastructure and the shared path.
