Local Hero

24 October 2012

Local elder, wit, shearer and gentleman Greg Rule was amongst those included in the recognition and thanks by Hartley Lifecare of community members who have helped support the Hall markets over the years.

As reported in the October 'Rural Fringe' (which is available for download here), Hartley Lifecare hosted a celebratory dinner to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Markets.

Celebrations continued at the October Markets, where Greg was recognised and thanked for ensuring over many, many years that the Pavilion is always clean and ready for use when the Markets come around.

Margaret and Tony Morris have also been recognised for their volunteer support of the Markets since they began, being given Life Membership of Hartley Lifecare.

"Hartley Lifecare would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful, loyal, dedicated and hard working group of volunteers who help run the Hall Markets. These great people give up their weekends to come out in all weather conditions, put in a very long day of sometimes quite hard work to support Hartley and the Markets on a monthly basis.

A very special thank you must go to the Hall & District Progress Association for their long standing support toward Hartley Lifecare and the success of the Hall Markets. We are greatly appreciative for their support".

Our photo shows Greg with Jennifer Cameron (who first had the idea for the Markets), Minister Joy Burch, and Chair of the Hartley Lifecare Board Geoff Leeper. Well done mate!
